Bloodlines, bloodbath, and Bong Go's roots

I was curious about the latest in the Final Destination series of films, entitled “Final Destination: Bloodlines”.
Having seen the first five films over the years and appalled but at the same time fascinated by the carnage in many scenes, I decided to check the sixth installment of the series especially as it has a genealogically-sounding title, bloodlines. And the movie did not disappoint. With its usual gore and death’s butchery of the members of the protagonist's family, it is even better than its predecessors. And the genealogist in me loved the idea of death stalking an entire family line, waiting patiently for the matriarch to die and then picking on her progeny one by one. It is reminiscent of family curses like the Kennedys, and other families with similar tales. But what I really appreciated about the film was its emphasis on family and the bonds that a family’s members share. In the previous five movies, all the characters were mostly strangers thrown together to fight Death’s plan. So one can see more family moments in this latest installment. For those who will watch this, you can be promised a bloodbath!
