Afshin Ghassemi conquers six World Marathon Majors

Cebuano sportsman Afshin Ghassemi basked in the glow of a memorable milestone in his athletic career when he successfully conquered the six Abbott World Marathon Majors in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday (Tuesday, April 22 Philippine time).
An accomplished multi-sport athlete, Ghassemi kicked off his inspiring journey with the Berlin Marathon in September 2023.
In a remarkable display of grit and determination, the president of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Alumni Association navigated three consecutive 42.195-kilometer distances in New York, London, and Chicago last year.
Interestingly, Ghassemi took on four Ironman 70.3 races in California, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, and New Zealand in between those marathons.
A month ago, he stepped on the doorstep of the greatest honor for marathoners after finishing the Tokyo Marathon.
