A Brazilian woman whose eight-year-old photograph has unexpectedly become the centre of a political storm over voter fraud allegeation turns out to be a hairdresser, not a model, after all.

- FPJ News Service

Identified as Larissa Nery, she posed for the photo years ago, unaware it would one day surface in Indian politics. A video of Nery has now gone viral, where she reacts in disbelief to the situation.

"Guys, they are using an old photo of mine... I was like 18 or 20 years old. I don't know if it's an election or something about voting... And in India. Ah! They're portraying me as Indian to scam people, guys. What madness! What craziness is this? What world do we live in?" she says in the video.

In another clip, she adds, "A reporter called me wanting to know about this whole thing... my job... wanting to talk to me for an interview, I didn't answer."
