Former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Saturday claimed that India may soon witness a major political shakeup that could pave the way for a "Marathi Manus" to become prime minister.

- Varad Bhatkhande

Chavan, who had earlier hinted at this in a post on X, connected the possibility to the impending release of documents from the Epstein case in the U.S., which he said could cause political turmoil worldwide, including in India.

Chavan was speaking at the launch of 'Jana Gana Mana', a book written by senior social worker Manav Kamble, in Chinchwad. Subhash Ware, Chandrakant Salskar, Vishwambhar Choudhari, Asim Sarode, Nitin Pawar, and Maruti Bhapkar were present at the event.

Explaining his remarks, Chavan said, "The American Congress passed a law on Nov 19, and according to that law, data will be published on Dec 19. As per the law, a secret video recording gathered by an Israeli intelligence agent in his home in America, using hidden cameras, contains photographs and videos of many political leaders. Some of these names have already surfaced on social media. The American Congress will release these photographs and videos on Dec 19. Around 75,000 photographs and 20,000 emails related to this matter have now come to light. A major political earthquake could occur after the American institution publishes all this information, and subsequently, a Marathi person could become the Prime Minister of our country."
