AYODHYA SET FOR WORLD RECORDS

The late Dr Bindeshwar Pathak, a social reformer, initiated this change over a decade ago. He organized the first Diwali and Holi celebrations for widows in Vrindavan, aiming to combat the stigma surrounding widowhood. Since then, Sulabh has continued these traditions, bringing joy and visibility to the widows who have historically been marginalized.

"Thousands of widows, especially from west Bengal, have lived in Vrindavan for decades. It was only with Sulabhis support that they began to partake in rituals and festivities," said Vinita Verma, Vice President of the Hope Foundation. The organization provides them with regular medical assistance, vocational training, and daily essentials, helping to reintegrate them into society.
