As temperatures begin to soar in Maharashtra and other parts of the country, leading room air conditioner manufacturers are raising prices by 5—15% to offset higher raw material costs and supply chain expenses.

- FPJ News Servcie

The increase comes at a time when Mumbai and several parts of the state have been experiencing rising temperatures and heatwave-like conditions over the past few days. On Sunday, the mercury in Mumbai hovered around 34°C, after touching around 39°C on Friday and Saturday, prompting many households to switch on cooling appliances earlier than usual this summer.

The price hikes, being rolled out between February and April, come just ahead of the peak summer season when demand typically surges.

Leading brands such as Daikin, Voltas, Blue Star, LG, Haier and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have announced increases across models.
