Union says Infosys flouts voting leave rule

The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has filed a complaint with the Labour Commissioner’s office in Pune against Infosys Limited, alleging the company is not complying with a Government of Maharashtra directive mandating paid leave or paid time off for voting in today’s municipal council and nagar panchayat elections.

The complaint was filed on Monday.

According to NITES, the state government's resolution issued on Friday, Nov 28, mandates that all establishments must provide registered voters either a full day of paid leave or a minimum of one to three hours of paid time off to cast their ballots. The resolution prohibits any loss of wages or deduction of leave for voting.
