SHRC disposes plea; flags lapses by BMC officials

The Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has disposed of the petition filed by advocate Amit Dubey in the Ghatkopar illegal hoarding collapse case, observing that the massive 120x120 sq ft hoarding was more than twice the allowed size of 40x40 sq ft, clearly violating standard norms.

In its final order, the commission emphasised that the “scope of enquiry has narrowed down to the role and alleged responsibility of the BMC officers and the municipal commissioner,’ since the hoarding had been put up nearly two years before the collapse.
