Priyank Kharge questions RSS over security privileges

Karnataka’s Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), questioning its financial transparency and the special security privileges extended to its leadership.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Priyank Kharge asked why the RSS, which claims to be a social organization, does not follow the same registration and accountability procedures as other nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) operating in India.

“In this country, every NGO is registered, files income tax returns annually, and discloses its sources of income or donations to the government. If the RSS is also an NGO, why is it exempt from these processes?” Kharge questioned in his post.
