Part of Sabarimala gold seized from Bengaluru

A significant development has emerged in the ongoing investigation into the Sabarimala gold robbery case, with the special investigation team recovering 176 grams of gold.

This gold was found at the Bengaluru residence of Unnikrishnan Potty, the prime suspect in the case, and from his associate Govardhan's jewellery business, Roddam Jewellery, in Bellary.

The SIT believes that this recovered gold is part of a much larger stash stolen from the Sabarimala temple. Authorities are conducting a scientific test to verify whether the recovered gold matches the precious metals that were stolen from the temple's sculptures and door frames. This process will help ensure that the items returned are, indeed, the same ones removed during the heist.
