Foresters distribute masks among residents living in forest fringes

Due to the increase in tiger attacks in the border areas of forests, the forest department has taken precautionary measures.

A new strategy to outsmart the tigers that are attacking humans is to make the public wear masks.

The forest department has already ordered the distribution of 10,000 face masks. It has also started distributing face masks among villagers affected by the tiger menace living in forest fringes of Bandipur and Nagarhole tiger reserves.

The forest department has captured more than l0 tigers, including five cubs in the last 26 days in Mysuru district. This operation came after three people were killed ina series of tiger attacks in the vicinity of Nagarhole Tiger Reserve. The forest department personnel visit the villages everyday while carrying out combing operations, distributing facemasks and advising villagers.
