The 86th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference concluded in Lucknow with a clear roadmap to strengthen India’s legislative institutions through technology, transparency and accountability.

Addressing the media after the three-day deliberations, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said the conference marked a decisive step towards making legislatures more efficient, people-centric and future-ready.

Birla informed that 36 presiding officers from 24 states participated in the conference, where deliberations were held on three core themes — use of technology for transparent and citizen-focused legislative processes, capacity building of legislators, and enhancing accountability towards the public. These discussions culminated in the adoption of six key resolutions.
