Second recusal stalls memory card breach plea

Kerala High Court proceedings over the alleged unauthorised access to a memory card containing visuals of the 2017 actor assault were delayed on Wednesday after Justice Kauser Edappagath recused himself from hearing the survivor's petition.
The matter had been listed before the single judge after another bench, led by Justice Jobin Sebastian, stepped aside earlier this week. The petition now has to be placed before the Chief Justice for assignment to a different bench, prolonging a closely watched legal challenge tied to the handling of one of the most sensitive pieces of evidence in the case. The survivor has sought to quash the inquiry report prepared by the Ernakulam District and Sessions Judge into the alleged access to the memory card while it was in judicial custody.
