Think about the growing population, make the future safe

Every year 11 July is celebrated as World Population Day.

The main objective of this day is to make people aware of the need for population control and its social, economic and environmental effects.

The ever-increasing population has affected the pace of development and problems like unemployment, hunger, illiteracy are increasing.

In view of these challenges, population control has now become not just an option but an imperative.

How did World Population Day start?

On 11 July 1987, when the global population crossed the 5 billion mark, the United Nations expressed concern about the increasing population.

Two years later, on 11 July 1989, this day was celebrated for the first time as 'World Population Day'.

In December 1990, it was formally recognized by the United Nations General Assembly.

Since then, this day is celebrated every year with special programs, discussions and awareness campaigns.
