NZ’s Tom Latham completes 6,000 Test runs milestone

New Zealand opener Tom Latham has joined an elite group of Kiwi batters, becoming only the fifth player from his country to cross the 6,000-run mark in Test cricket. Latham reached the milestone during New Zealand’s first Test against the West Indies at Christchurch.

After scoring 24 runs in the first innings, the skipper produced a superb knock of 145 off 250 balls in the second innings, striking 12 fours.

With this performance, Latham’s tally now stands at 6,003 runs in 89 Tests at an average of 38.98. His career includes 14 centuries, 31 fifties and a highest score of 264*, making him the fifth-highest Test run-scorer in New Zealand's history. Kane Williamson leads the all-time list with 9,337 runs in 106 Tests at an average of 54.60, including 33 hundreds and 38 fifties, and a top score of 251.
