India Railways to run 1,500 special trains for Chhath rush

As festive travel peaks ahead of Chhath Puja, Indian Railways is rolling out 1,500 special trains over the next five days - averaging 300 services daily - to ensure safe and comfortable journeys for passengers.
Over the past 21 days, the Railways operated 4,493 special train trips (an average of 213 daily) to help passengers reach home for Diwali. This year’s festive season, from October 1 to November 30, will see a record 12,000 special trains across India. So far, 11,865 trips (916 trains) have been notified — including 9,338 reserved and 2,203 unreserved tripsmarking a sharp rise from last year’s 7,724 Puja and Diwali specials.
