Internal Rifts Surface as Selja, Surjewala Skip Rally Amid ED Heat on Party
The Haryana Congress staged a protest in Chandigarh on Thursday against what it called the "political misuse" of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) by the BJP government.
The protest, led by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and state Congress chief Chaudhary Udaibhan, saw the detention of several senior leaders, including MP Deepender Hooda and many MLAs, after a scuffle with the police.
The Congress workers were marching towards the ED office to protest against the ED's actions in the National Herald and Gurugram land cases involving Congress leadership and businessman Robert Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi.
The protest was also aimed at condemning the recent chargesheet filed against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
