CYCLONE FENGAL: THE WRATH CONTINUES...

Slow moving cyclone Fengal which remained stationed over North Tamil Nadu for over 24 hours wreaked havoc in the Villupuram-Tiruvannamalai-Dharmapuri-Krishnagiri belt, bringing unprecedented flooding in these districts.

In Villupuram district, around 160 km south of Chennai, over 160 lakes and water bodies have breached the danger mark and are overflowing. Most roads in Vikravandi and the surrounding villages in Villupuram district are cut off from the mainland. The district is completely battered by cyclone Fengal and continues to grapple under unprecedented floods. The heavy downpour has cut off access to villages as the roads and bridges are submerged in water.
