In Haryana, the process of appointing district presidents was relatively smooth. The state had been without a robust organisational setup for a long time, which helped avoid factional friction. Moreover, the leadership took care to ensure that supporters of all camps were accommodated, while also upholding the unwritten rule that no sitting MLA would be given charge as a district president.
