Cong doubles down on new IT Bill giving powers to officials

Congress on Friday once again targeted the BJP-led NDA government at the centre over the new Income Tax Bill giving sweeping powers to the Income Tax officers to access the phones, computers of the persons receiving the summons by dubbing it as a gross violation of Fundamental Right to Privacy, upheld by the Supreme Court.
An uproar has erupted on the new clauses giving powers to the IT department officials to check the social media accounts, emails and other personal details.
