The battle of by-polls in Rajasthan has become an uphill task after the defeat Haryana elections. The Congress is facing significant challenges following this defeat. Winning the state elections poses a significant challenge, but preserving the alliance is proving even tougher. The situation is particularly concerning, with small alliance parties in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar expressing threats, while in Maharashtra, trust issues are emerging among allies.
Sources indicate that a substantial faction within the party favors contesting the elections independently in Maharashtra. Many local leaders have cautioned the high command that Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena is unreliable and could align with the BJP either before or after the elections. There are also lingering doubts about the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar.
