COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS BETWEEN INDUSTRY AND ACADEMIA TO ENHANCE SKILL-BASED EDUCATION

National Education Policy 2020 highlights the core need of skill-based education to ensure that students are in tune with the changing times.

Indian students have been known to be excellent in theory but lacked practical knowledge as there was no exposure. Over time there has been a major revamp in course structures that has ensured that students are in sync with the needs of the evolving world. For this, a major overhaul had to be done at university levels where skill-based practical education also became a core part of the curriculum. However, what's available is too little and a lot needs to be done. For this, collaborative efforts between industry and academia are needed.
