In a notable shakeup, veterans Arun Kumar Sinha (Kumhrar) and Nand Kishore Yadav (Patna Sahib) have been dropped, reflecting the BJP’s stand against hereditary succession. Newcomers such as Sanjay Kumar Gupta (Kumhrar), Ratnesh Kushwaha (Patna Sahib) and Trivikram Singh (Aurangabad) make their debut. The list features nine women and no “parachute entrants”, signalling preference for long-serving karyakartas over outsiders.
Despite intense last-minute lobbying in Delhi by senior functionaries and former ministers, many aspirants were left disappointed after the Central Election Committee — chaired by J.P. Nadda and attended by top leaders — finalised the names.
