BJP strengthens foothold in Jat regions of Haryana

Continuing its efforts to bolster its position in Jat heartland of the poll-bound Haryana, the BJP on Monday welcomed two more Jat faced-Devender Singh Babli and Sunil Sangwan into its fold.

Babli, A former cabinet minister and Jannayak Janta Party leader, and Sangwan, a former jail superintendent and son of former minister Satpal Sangwan, joined the BJP during a programme in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh at BJP headquarters in New Delhi.
The ruling BJP under Chief Minister Nayab Saini has been actively courting the Jat community—a key electoral demographic— aiming to consolidate its support base to ensure its third term in the October 5 assembly elections.
