In the run-up to the crucial 2026 Assembly elections in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Kolkata on Friday— marking the grand inauguration of the city’s Durga Puja festivities—turned into a political spectacle as he declared that he had sought Goddess Durga’s blessings for “regime change” in the State.
