THEY may still have two league games before completing their season - but Cornish Pirates are pressing ahead with plans for the rebranded 2025-26 'Champ Rugby' season with a number of signings and re-signings.

The season's not yet over but plans are already afoot for the next one

Hooker Ben Morgan will be returning to the Mennaye Field from Gloucester - and he will be joined by another exciting new recruit in Welsh wing and centre Ben Cambriani.

Chester Ribbons is having his dual registration with Exeter Chiefs turned into something more permanent in Cornwall, while Alex Everett has extended his stay at the Mennaye into a fourth season.

On the return of 25-year-old Morgan, joint head coach Alan Paver said: "Before he left us Morgan was rightly earmarked as one of the best hookers in the Championship, and he now has the experience of having been involved at a top-level environment.

"We are clearly delighted that he'll be back with us, as he is still young and ambitious and has a lot of rugby ahead of him yet.

"It’s a massive plus because he knows our set up, will fit back in easily, and he is one of those players who adds something extra, both on and off the field."

Morgan made 49 appearances and scored 19 tries in his first spell in the Duchy before he left for Gloucester in October.
