Farming projects showcase environmental innovation helping nature and community
The Cornishman
|June 19, 2025
FARMERS and landowners in the Cornwall National Landscape have been exploring new ways to support nature, climate resilience and community wellbeing through a range of initiatives.

Two such projects, both located adjacent to Section 05, St Agnes, highlight how agricultural practices can be adapted to benefit both people and the environment.
One example is The Grower, based at Presingoll Farm in St Agnes. Specialising in the cultivation and supply of trees and hedging, The Grower integrates regenerative farming practices into a traditional farm model.
To date, the business has distributed over 1.75 million trees across the UK, including more than 65,500 trees planted in Cornwall and across the South West. On their own land, they've planted 5,600 trees as part of a broader commitment to nature recovery. They grow their own trees, as well as cover crops as part of the tree rotation and other crops are grown in rotation on the farm by an external grower.
