Lui's Steed to strike at the Valley
The Citizen
|September 10, 2025
Peregrine Falcon looks a decent banker on Vaal Classic card.
Trainer Weichong Marwing could provide bettors with some good value at the Vaal tomorrow when he sends out Glamorous Lady in Race 7, a MR 92 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1600m on the Classic track.
The four-year-old daughter of New Predator is one of those runners who may only have chalked up one win, but she seldom runs a bad race. She has only run 10 times but has finished out of the money just three times.
After finishing a two-length third behind Soldier's Eye over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside track in April, she was out of action for two months and came back in a MR 99 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1400m on the Standside track on 28 June with just 52kg on her back. She clearly needed the run and faded out late to finish 8.50 lengths behind Miss Hannigan.
She now drops in class but will still come into this event carrying 52kg as Marwing has engaged 4kg claiming apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia to ride the filly.
Now down in class, Glamorous Lady could provide some decent each-way value for punters and should be included in Trifectas and Quartets.
