Woman bit and spat on police officers

A WOMAN bit, kicked and spat on three officers after her own parents called police to the Newcastle home they shared because of her aggressive behaviour.

On the first occasion, officers entered the address where Asha Khan and her mum and dad lived in an attempt to calm her down.

However, the 21-year-old refused to listen and continued to shout and behave “erratically” before kicking one of the constables in the chest, a court heard.

After being placed in handcuffs and arrested, Khan then sank her teeth into the arm of another officer, leaving a four-inch bruise and a requirement to take antibiotics, prosecutors said.

Last month, and while on bail for those matters, police were again called by Khan's parents because of her aggressive behaviour. This time, they found her sitting in a car outside the address, and she spat on one of the officers as he tried to open the passenger door to talk to her.
