NORTH EAST POP STAR JADE LAUNCHES HER LATEST ALBUM WITH SURPRISE GIG AT THE ANGEL OF THE NORTH

JADE Thirlwall celebrated the release of her debut solo album with two special events on home turf.

Jade, from South Shields, released her album That's Showbiz Baby, marking it with a short-notice open air gig at Gateshead's Angel of the North on Thursday night and a midnight signing at a Newcastle record store.

This year's Brit winner for Best Pop, Jade has been making waves as a solo artist, 14 years on from shooting to fame in the girl group Little Mix.
