Rail passengers warned of delays

NETWORK Rail is urging passengers to plan ahead, with upgrade work happening on the next two weekends.
-
Staff will be working at locations in the North East over these weekends, so lines between Newcastle and Edinburgh are set to close.
The engineering work, on September 13-14 and 20-21, includes new track, drainage systems, switches and crossings, as well as improvements to overhead line equipment.
