Passer-by gave CPR to victim of attack in Byker

A POLICE cordon was in place near Byker Metro Station yesterday after a man was hospitalised following an attack on Monday evening.

Emergency services including Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service were called to Raby Street in Byker, Newcastle, shortly after 11pm on April 13.
Police have confirmed a man in his 40s has been taken to hospital after sustaining a head injury consistent with having been assaulted. He remains in a stable condition. It is understood those involved in the incident fled the area prior to police arriving.
Yesterday, two police vehicles were seen at Byker Metro Station with officers standing guard in front of a taped-off area.
