Mags facing fight for goalscorer

The Chronicle

|

April 24, 2025

THIS summer promises to bring with it a fierce battle for the signature of Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap.

The 22-year-old hitman, who has netted 12 Premier League goals this term, has a plethora of admirers at present, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Eddie Howe's Newcastle United.

The Magpies have been touted as a potential destination for Delap next term, with clubs circling to pounce on a £30m release clause that will reportedly be activated should Ipswich be relegated to the Championship.

The Tractor Boys are 15 points from safety with five top-flight clashes remaining, meaning their unfortunate fate will be sealed with anything but a win at St James' Park later this week.
