SPIRIT OF THE 90s TV DRAMA TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE BY GEORDIE STAR
IT’S a song with a highly hummable tune and lyrics that those of a certain age will no doubt remember well.
Crocodile Shoes was a hit for Geordie star Jimmy Nail and the title track of his TV series that brought him another share of the TV spotlight after the success of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet followed by police drama Spender.
The actor and singer this time played a factory worker with a talent for writing and singing country songs and over two series, from 1994 to 1996, the drama followed his character Jed Shepperd’s music journey as - post-factory closure - he moved on from Tyneside to make his name in Nashville, Tennessee. And now, more than 30 years on, the spirit of the drama is to be brought back to life on stage.
