FOR the 25th year in a row, Kim Ashcroft donned an NHS uniform and headed into North Tyneside General Hospital yesterday to serve food on Christmas Day.

Kim, who is now a catering supervisor in the hospital restaurant, first joined the team back in 1999.
She helped out on Christmas morning again - and has been described as a "true asset" to the hospital community.
Her plan was to spend the morning serving breakfast, before heading home, making her own family Christmas dinner, and face-timing her son who lives in the United States.
