Fighting to overcome stigma around epilepsy

A NORTHUMBERLAND man is determined to fight stigma around epilepsy - a condition he has lived with for decades.

Guy Stoker, 50, is a successful musician who has worked all around the world.

But he is acutely aware that simply by being able to hold down a job, he has been one of the lucky ones.

Guy has been an advocate supporting others for many years now - even saving one man's life in recent months.

He has set up the Purple Chorus internet site to highlight his work exploring intersections between music and his condition.

Bedlington-based, he now splits his time between Northumberland and Paris, where he works on river cruises.

Guy has even recently helped to save the life of a Danish man he realised was suffering seizures while chatting on social media.
