AND WINGER DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CRITIC'S OPINIONS

- By LEE RYDER

NEWCASTLE United star Anthony Gordon has handed his social media critics a quickfire message ahead of the meeting with Paris Saint Germain.

The Liverpool-born attacker has gone over a year since scoring from open play in the Premier League and has reserved his best performances for the bright lights of Europe. Gordon has netted six times in the Champions League and admits he loves the Euro nights.

But after enduring some harsh criticism online, Gordon says he chooses to take the high road on such comments and it won't change him as a player.

Gordon, speaking in Paris ahead of the meeting tonight, was asked by the Chronicle what it was like to be a modern-day footballer with social media almost saturating the sport with opinions, and he replied: "I think it is what you make it. I stay off social media, I don't use it.

"So it's not that bad for me; I don't see a lot of it.

"I know a lot of players do, so I mean it's their choice. Like I said, it is what you make it, but it's not for me.
