Dunston boss calls for support in final push

JON McDonald has called on the North East non-league scene to get behind Dunston UTS in their bid to secure a historic promotion.

After claiming a highest ever league finish by ending the regular season in second place in the Northern Premier League East Division, McDonald’s side will host Emley in the play-off semi-final tonight.

The winners of that tie will face either Stocksbridge Park Steels or Belper Town in the final on Saturday and Dunston’s impressive league finish means they would host that final if they are successful tonight. McDonald is relishing another big occasion and is hopeful his side can be roared on by a sizeable crowd at the UTS Stadium.
