THE Duke of Sussex has been "singled out for different, unjustified and inferior treatment", the Court of Appeal heard yesterday, in the royal's challenge over his level of security in the UK.

Duke turns up for start of appeal

Harry is challenging the dismissal of his High Court legal action against the Home Office over the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of taxpayer-funded protection when in the country.

The duke, 40, arrived at the Royal Courts of Justice in London yesterday morning to attend the hearing. The appeal comes after retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane ruled last year that Ravec's decision, taken in early 2020 after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit as senior working royals, was lawful.
