December to remember on a very festive street

Residents and friends enjoying a Christmas charity event at Lepidina Close, Lemington

All 14 neighbours living on Lepidina Close in Lemington decorate the outside of their homes with Christmas lights to raise funds for charity. This year they are supporting Changing Lives North East, Cruse Bereavement Support and the Freeman Hospital Paediatric Unit (Newcastle Hospitals Charity). The display has grown bigger and brighter over the last four years and people now visit from across the region.

Local businessman Grant Brown, 37, and his friend Richard Gibson, 46, organise an event called 'A December to remember' each year where Santa and his elves visits Lemington, Newburn, Throckley, Blucher and Walbottle. Lepidina Close was chosen as one of Santa's stops.
