Bingo team announces closure of 'vital' venue

A Tyneside bingo hall has announced it will close next weekend.
Buzz Bingo on Middle Engine Lane in Wallsend is to close, with its final session taking place on the evening of Sunday, January 18.
In an announcement on social media, the team behind the venue announced that its sister club in Clifford Street in Byker would be revamped in order to "create an even better space" for players from both venues. Plans for the site to be turned into a "discount" shopping venue were approved more than two years ago by North Tyneside Council's planning committee.
