Barnes is backing boss Howe
The Chronicle
|December 18, 2025
JOHN Barnes has insisted it would make no sense for Newcastle United to get rid of Eddie Howe and that the club would struggle to find a better manager.
-
While Howe is under no immediate pressure of the sack, the Magpies head coach has struggled to find his footing in the Premier League this season, with United languishing in 12th in the standings with six wins, as many losses and four draws.
And after a bitter 1-0 loss to Sunderland in the Wear-Tyne derby, pressure is starting to build for a turnaround with some even questioning whether 48-year-old Howe is still the right man for the job despite his success since taking over.
