A TYNESIDE dad is channelling grief at the death of his son into supporting others in his memory.

Warren Phillips has, with friends, set up Cal's Club in the Lemington area.Warren’s aim is to support those struggling with their mental health and addiction - there are weekly men’s and women’s groups - while also channelling community spirit into doing what they can collectively in order to support people sleeping rough in Newcastle city centre.

Callum, a dad-of-two, died in August 2024 aged just 32. Warren explained he had struggled with his mental health and this had led to addiction issues, and subsequently his death.

Warren paid tribute to his son and said: “Callum suffered with his mental health for a long, long time. He kept trying to get help but the right help was never available.
