Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has described the newly inaugurated Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute (OOLI) as more than just an academic institution — calling it a movement dedicated to reclaiming Africa's leadership narrative and investing in a new generation of principled, prepared, and people-focused leaders.

- BY KOLAWOLE OLAYINKA, ABEOKUTA

Speaking at the formal inauguration of the Institute's Governing Board held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Obasanjo said, “Africa's greatest asset is its people, and with the right leadership, there is no limit to what we can achieve for our continent and the world.”

In a statement shared by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo emphasized that OOLI was born from his more than seven decades of experience observing Africa's developmental challenges and leadership deficits.
