UP plans to integrate higher edu with incubators to support biz ideas

Ittar Pradesh is set to higher Uta revolutionize education by integrating it with incubators, paving the way for angel funding to support innovative business ideas. With 63 operational incubators already in place, the government is ambitiously aiming to establish one at each higher education institution across all 75 districts.

Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the country's fourth-largest startup. ecosystem, boasting eight unicorns and two potential soonicorns, as revealed by a KPMG report. Notably, the state is currently fostering two soonicorns - Class Plus and InShorts.

Among the nearly 10,000 recognized startups in the state, half originate from tier-II and III cities, with over 4,300 being led by women entrepreneurs.

Eight of India's 108 unicorns call UP home, including Paytm, Paytm Mall, India Mart, Moglix, Pine Labs, Innovaccer, InfoEdge, and Physics Wallah.
