Pranav Gupta Wins Landmark Case Against Cartel Practices in Publishing Industry

In a major victory for India's publishing sector, Pranav Gupta, Managing Director of Prints Publications Pvt. Ltd., has won a landmark case against cartel-like practices within the industry.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI), in Case No. 38/2021, ruled in Gupta's favour, issuing a decisive order against anti-competitive behaviour by key industry bodies.

At the heart of the case were the Federation of Publishers' and Booksellers' Association in India (FPBAI) and its sub-body, the Good Offices Committee (GOC). The CCI found them guilty of:
