PLI SCHEME BOOSTS INDIA'S TELECOM EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING, SALES TOP RS 50,000

Within three years, the Telecom PLI scheme has attracted Rs 3,400 crore in investments, exceeding Rs 50,000 crore in telecom equipment production and Rs 10,500 crore in exports, creating over 17,800 direct jobs and significantly boosting domestic manufacturing and competitiveness

The Ministry of Communications recently highlighted the significant impacts of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Telecom and Networking Products and Large Scale Electronic Manufacturing of Electronics. This initiative has led to substantial growth in production, employment, economic development, and exports within India.

Within three years of the Telecom PLI scheme’s implementation, it has attracted Rs 3,400 crore in investments.

The production of telecom equipment has exceeded Rs 50,000 crore, with exports amounting to approximately Rs 10,500 crore. This has resulted in the creation of over 17,800 direct jobs and numerous indirect jobs. This milestone underscores the robust growth and competitiveness of India’s telecom manufacturing industry, driven by government initiatives aimed at promoting local production and reducing import dependency.
