In the fiscal year 2022-23, power consumption reached 1,504.26 billion units, surpassing the 1,374.02 billion units recorded in the financial year 2021-22.

Power consumption in the country registered an annual increase of nearly 8%, reaching 1,221.15 billion units (BU) during the April-December period of the current fiscal year, signaling a notable uptick in economic activities.
Comparatively, power usage was at 1,132.11 BU in April-December 2022-23. Industry experts attribute the approximately 8% growth in power consumption during the first nine months of the fiscal year to a surge in economic activities.
