Himachal Pradesh High Court Directed State To Comply With Vendors Act, Constituted 'Town Vending Committee'

The Himachal Pradesh High Court in the case Court on its own motion vs. State of H.P & Ors observed and has directed the State government for promptly constituting the ‘Town Vending Committee’ in Shimla in accordance with Section 22 of the Street Vendors, the Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending Act, 2014 and the corresponding rules

The bench comprising of Chief Justice M.S Ramachandra Rao and Justice Ajay Mohan Goel in the case observed and has passed the said direction after noting that the lack of action which is being taken by the Municipal Commissioner and the Municipal Committee in order to fulfil their obligations under the statute.
