G20 delegates to experience UPI in India

In an effort to leverage India’s G20 Presidency as an opportunity to showcase the nation’s digital public goods and the “Digital India” initiative, the central government has decided to offer practical experiences to approximately 1,000 visiting foreign delegates with hands-on demonstrations of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) wallet technology

This initiative is designed to not only introduce foreign participants to the technology but also to illustrate the ease of conducting transactions through this indigenous digital payment solution.
Under this program, foreign delegates or participants attending the G20 Summit in India will receive funds ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 in their UPI wallets for conducting UPI transactions. The central government has allocated around Rs 10 lakhs for this initiative.
